Susan L. Mikolaitis RD, LDN, CSND

am Susan Mikolaitis a registered, licensed dietitian-nutritionist in the state of Illinois for over 25 years. Dietitians are experts in the field of nutrition. I have practiced in various fields of dietetics with a concentration in gastrointestinal disease and administering medical nutrition therapy for the past 15 years. I am a graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago with honors, and am currently a graduate student at The George Washington University , seeking my Masters in Clinical Research Administration.

Many years ago Benjamin Franklin spoke the following words "Eat to live, and not live to eat." I think of this as a simple, accurate goal for medical nutrition therapy, but very challenging to discover for each person how to eat to live with digestive issues, and equally as challenging to teach this concept and assist clients in assimilating it in their daily lives. I am dedicated to assisting people in achieving nutritional balance, in spite of their gastrointestinal disorders. Diet in inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and irritable bowel syndrome are my current areas of research interest.
