Dr. Mary Tobin

Mary C. Tobin M.D. is currently the Clinical Director of Allergy& Immunology Services at Rush-Pres. St. Luke’s Hospital and on the full time faculty of Rush Medical College since 1999. Dr. Tobin attended St. Mary’s College, South Bend, IN and graduated Magna cum Laude with a BS in biology. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Rush Medical College in 1977. She did her residency in Internal Medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital from 1977-1980. She served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine from 1980-1981. At the same time she served as director of the Medical Emergency Department. She takes care of patients with “atopic irritable bowel syndrome”, food allergies, anaphylaxis, mastocytosis, hereditary angioedema and immunodeficienies. Prior to that she was the Director of the Division of Allergy and Immunology at the Loyola University Medical Center. During her time there she developed the Asthma Center which offered comprehensive evaluation and care for adults and children with asthma. In 1999, she left Loyola to return to Rush to join the faculty of the Allergy & Immunology fellowship program and to do clinical research in food allergies and IBS with her colleagues in Gastroenterology at Rush.
