Angela M. Johnson, Dipl OM, LAc, MSTOM, MPH

As a nationally board certified practitioner of Oriental medicine, Angela provides acupuncture and other Oriental medicine related techniques to help patients achieve optimal health and well-being. Angela has been in the field of integrative medicine for 5 years. Through her medical practices at Rush University Medical Center, published writing, research, teaching, and speaking engagements, Angela is developing a rich reputation as a well-rounded practitioner.

One of Angela's greatest strengths is in the treatment of chronic health conditions. Knowing how important it is for her patients to be involved in their own healing, she will often provide practical tools such as meditation, visualization, and nutritional consultation to further enhance her treatments.  Addressing each patient in a very gentle, gracious, and nurturing manner, she's achieved significant improvements in patients who come for treatment having experienced the limitations of Western medicine.

In addition to her credentials which include national board certification as a Diplomate of Oriental medicine, a Master of Science of Traditional Oriental Medicine, a Master of Public Health, and a license in acupuncture by the state of Illinois, Angela often spends her free time publishing articles and speaking to groups in and around Chicago. Recent activities include publication of "Complementary Medicine and Cancer Care" in the spring 2008 edition of Women and Cancer; featured on TV (WYCC - Channel 20) discussing the role of acupuncture in cancer care; keynote speaker at a Rush University Medical Center symposium "Culture of a Woman's Heart;" and various lectures provided to RUSH physicians and nurses on the role of acupuncture in chronic health conditions.
